Cabrera: the north coast before it changes
Cabrera sits at the eastern end of the Dominican Republic's north coast, on Bahía Escocesa, about 130 km north of Santo Domingo. It is a working town — cattle, milk, coconuts, rice — not a resort strip. That is the entire point: the beaches are empty on weekdays, the fishing boats still go out at dawn, and nobody is selling you a piña colada.
Why Cabrera
An economy built on cattle and coconuts, a climate that averages 26.7 °C, and a coastline the tourism industry has not reached yet.
02The Playa Grande corridor
A private international airport has been authorized 20 km east, backed by Discovery Land Company, Aman and Third Point. What that does — and does not — mean for prices.
03Beaches, reef and national park
El Diamante, Playa Grande, the Gri-Grí lagoon and Cabo Francés Viejo — what each one actually is, and how far.
04Buying from abroad
How a foreign buyer actually closes here: title, escrow, financing, and the tax question nobody answers straight.
